Well...we decided to join the 21st century and get the internet so here we are, alive and very well. We have just been enjoying the beauty in Park City. Over Memorial weekend we went camping down in Snow Canyon with friends from our old ward, the Douglas ward. So much fun, Kael didn't want to leave. Looks like we will be doing a lot more camping this summer. Kael is 20 months and getting bigger by the hour. I have been working at Gymboree outlet 1-2 nights a week since Feb. so you all need to come and shop and see me. Penn and I took a much needed vacation to the Western Carribean, that was three years in the making. This is our first summer off in three years so it is going to be very much enjoyed. We will now be able to blog more than twice a year, it's exciting.

Christmas in Tremonton

So we have had Christmas with Penn's family for the last three years in a row so to make things balanced we decided to come to Tremonton with Kim's family including her brother Jason from Arizona. Penn's mom thinks that three years at her house to the one at the in-law's house is fair and balanced. Kael scored with some pajamis the night before Christmas. I think that Kael is starting to understand this whole open a box with pretty paper on it and there is something fun inside. Penn did his annual solo sulfer pot's soak in some distant small strange town in the middle of no where. Okay the main highlights of the Christmas gifts; Kim, Kenneth Cole watch and a deep freezer. Penn, new shoes (Yes I said new, he would prefer used if he could) and a black North Face jacket. Kael got a big play tent and a etch sketch thinger jigger. We played a little Guitar Hero and got drunk, just kidding on the drunk part. O yea Kim's family got a pool table and Penn dominated everyone (Did you hear that Justin, everyone). We also got high centered in the snow with a 4-wheel which was pretty fun after the fact. So next on the holiday agenda is a visit to Penn's Grandma in Richfield (Yea Richfield, that is a small town in the middle of now where). On New Year week we will be spending time at Wolf Creek up Odgen canyon and will be spending some time in a cabin and skiing / snowboarding. So that is the long and short of it. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

It's a Zoo of fun... Kael is 1!

Kael turned one on the 12th of September. We had a fun party with family and Kael loved his presents and especially his very own chocolate, peanut butter cupcake. He is now considered a toddler, he is just growing up way to fast, but it was a fabulous first year.

The Summer Blues

I would rate this summer about a 2 out of 10 due to all the long landscape hours, I'm supprised that Kim has not divorsed me. Needless to say the landscape is done but is work realy ever done? As of lately we have been battling the moose who like to eat our fresh new aspens. Our defense and offense against the moose involves rocks, a pellet gun, water hose / balloons, yelling, the finger and soon anti-moose spray.

All our summer fun has just kicked in the last 2 weeks which includes a Jack Johnson concert (5 year anniversary), Blue's Travelers and Bee's game (Kael caught his first baseball).

With all the work out of the way we are hoping to be better bloggers, we are also looking to go on more adventures. By the way the family is doing great, Kael is growing up fast (About to walk), Kim just got put in the Relief Society presidency and Penn is trying to figure out how to take over the world. What's Up!

Penn just turned 30, as you can tell he ages well and loves life. We had a surprise party for him and much to my surprise he was surprised. We had a lot of fun and Penn is excited to start this new chapter in his life which he believes will include more adventures, business opportunities and a lot of marinating. Happy Birthday Penn!

As for the rest of the family, Kael is working on crawling, standing and 4 more teeth. He is already a ladies man and quite the charmer with his big blue eyes.

My sister had baby boy #4 weighing in at 8lbs. 8 oz. and she did it natural which she says "I will never do that again". She really had no choice in the matter but she did great and her and the baby are healthy and well.

I have a single brother if there are any single girls looking for a great catch.

We are still working on landscape but we will be done by July sometime and hope to have many BBQ's.

Home Sweet Home

We have now been in our home for over a month now and it is great. We should be finishing up with some projects on it by the end of the week. It has been a long road. A year ago in April we started construction. Park City is our new home and it feels great. We still have 2-3 feet of snow in some areas, but it is melting quickly. Yea, Spring is coming.
Kael is 6 months today, wow how times fly. He has two teeth and is working on 2 more. He loves to eat and stand, laugh and smile. He is the life of the party.
Penn and I have been doing well and look forward to our next project, landscaping.

Kael's first Christmas present

We thought we would share a photo of Kael's first Christmas, which we discovered was more fun for mom and dad then for Kael. Our family is spending Christmas with Nana and Papa Clyde in Provo and having a great time watching movies, relaxing and enjoying each others company. It's too bad that this wonderful holiday dream all comes to an end tomorrow when we go back to the PC house to install the hardwood floors (We are about T-minus 2 to 3 weeks for move-in). HELLO!

Sorry I am the world's worst blogger. I don't have a computer and so I can't update our blog as often as I would like. So here is an update of the past two months.

Penn and I LOVE being parents. It is the best thing ever. Our little Kael isn't so little anymore. He is 9 1/2 weeks and weighs 13 pounds 9 ounces and measures 24 3/4 in lentgh. He has such personality now and loves to smile and looks at everything with such great interest. He is a great baby and loves to eat.

Penn and I were able to go on our first date since Kael was born, it was our first time leaving him. We missed him but we enjoyed ourselves. We were invited to the Goveners Gala at the Grand America. It was the cheapest most expensive date we've been on. It was a lot of fun. We got to dress up (it was a nice change from sweats and ponytails)and it was just an enjoyable evening.

Our home is coming along. We were hoping to be in already but it is taking us a little longer. We are hoping by Christmas, if not sooner. It is just Penn and I up there everyday working on it. We can't wait to be in our home.

Nov. 14 my brother Justin got married in the Salt Lake Temple. It was such a nice day. I love weddings. It was nice to have all my family together, It doesn't happen to often. Some other good news is that my sister Jenny is pregnant. We are all hoping for a girl.

KAEL BRADLEY OWENS

Kael was born Sept. 12 @12:30 p.m. weighing 7 pounds and 2 ounces and a head full of hair.
I woke up Wed. morning at 5:00 a.m feeling contractions so I started to time them out. I woke Penn up telling him "I think this is the day". I showered, got things ready and by 8:00 we were headed to the hospital. I was checked in and given an exam and I was dilated to a 10. They called my midwife and by 9:00 I was pushing. I decided to do it natural. Wow, I have never been in such pain,I pushed for 3 1/2 hours. He was posterior and didn't want to come out. Finally I guess he knew that I was exhausted that he came out. He is a healthy, beautiful baby boy. We are both doing well, happy and tired.

Any Day Now

So I went in for my 37th week appointment and my Midwife said I am easily dilated to a 5 or 6, we were both surprised. I have yet to feel any pain. He is measuring 39 weeks and so I will be going in on Friday for another checkup. She told me to be/come prepared because when it begins, it is going to be fast. It is crazy to think that I could be having my baby this weekend. Penn & I are very excited. Penn has been working so hard to get the house finished by the time the baby comes, but it looks like the baby wants to come sooner. My bags are packed and I feel ready, at least as much as I can be, to have our baby boy.

Peaches

I just have to say that Brigham City peaches are the best, and that I make a pretty good peach pie.
Anyway, I was thinking of the best thing you husbands out there can do for your wives. Get them a pedicure. I just had a birthday and I received one. It was definitely heaven sent, especially since I have a hard time getting to my toes. I would show them off, but I don't have a camera at this time. I'll just tell you they look fabulous.
I just turned 28, holy cow! where does the time go. I still feel 16 at times. This saying is true, "The older you get the faster the days go by." I have 34 days to go til my little guy is born and before I know it he is going to be in my arms and than off to college. Life is a whirlwind but truly a wonderful thing. Life is to be enjoyed. I hope you are all happy. If you are having a bad/sad day let me know and I'll make you a peach pie.

FIRST TIME BLOGGERS

THIS IS OUR FIRST ATTEMPT AT KEEPING IN TOUCH WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS THROUGH BLOGGING. I HEAR IT IS ADDICTING, BUT WE ARE EXCITED TO BE ADDICTED.

THIS SUMMER HAS BEEN A CRAZY ONE. WE ARE EXPECTING ARE FIRST BABY OCTOBER 1. HE IS MEASURING 2 WEEKS BIGGER, SO WE WILL EITHER HAVE A BIG BABY BOY OR HE WILL COME EARLY. I HAVE BEEN BUSY (NESTING), READING BABY BOOKS, MAKING LISTS OF ITEMS I NEED, TAKING A BIRTHING CLASS WITH PENN, GOING TO APPOINTMENTS, GETTING EXCITED AND GETTING BIGGER, WHILE PENN IS BUSY BUILDING US A HOME FOR OUR NEW LITTLE FAMILY. HE HAS BEEN UP AT THE HOUSE ALMOST EVERY EVENING AND DAYS HE HAS OFF. IT HAS BEEN A BIG PROJECT, (WE RECCOMMEND BUYING A HOME). IT HAS BEEN FUN TO SEE OUR HOME COME TOGETHER, I AM EVEN OUT THERE DOING EVERYTHING I CAN TO HELP, BUT I AM LIMITED BEING 8 MONTHS PREGNANT AND ALL. IT MIGHT NOT BE FINISHED WHEN BABY OWENS (WE HAVEN'T DECIDED ON A NAME YET) COMES, BUT IT WILL BE A GREAT FEELING WHEN IT IS DONE.

WE ARE APPROACHING OUR 4 YEAR ANNIVERSARY AUGUST 16, IT IS AMAZING HOW FAST TIME FLIES. IT'S BEEN A GOOD 4 YEARS!

WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO BLOGGING AND KEEPING EVERYONE INFORMED ON WHAT IS HAPPENING.
